- The visitors were got on the board early after a bases loaded walk in the first inning, 1-0, but Finnegan Wall made the pitches to get out of the inning just trailing by one
- Wall was relieved by Tyler Foster in the second inning as he stranded another runner, but did strikeout the side in the third inning, but mixed in was a pair of hits followed by a three-run home run to give Cal Poly a 4-0 lead
- The Anteater bats could not find the response getting just one hit through the first six innings
- In the third inning, UCI got the bases loaded with one out from two walks and an error, but were unable to push anything across
- The Mustangs continued to add to their lead with multiple runs in the fifth, seventh, and eighth innings to win going away, 11-2
- UCI's late offense came in the form of a Tommy Farmer solo home run in the seventh inning, and consecutive hits by Zach Crandall, Landon Gaz, and an RBI infield single by Connor Dietsch in the ninth
- Six Anteater pitchers were tagged Saturday for 16 total hits
- Finnegan Wall drew the loss lasting just 1.2 innings
- Jack Ross was called upon in the fifth and went the longest of any 'Eater arm at 3.1 innings with three earned runs
