Β·Β UC Irvine won the Big West Championship completing a three-peat, the first in program history and third in the Big West's history (CS Fullerton 2005-07 & 2013-15). In this three-year stretch, UCI has not allowed a goal in all eight matches with Glo Hinojosa in net, and won the last two seeded 5th and 6th advancing through its six most-recent matches away from home. Hinojosa stopped a penalty in the 4-1 shootout win vs. LBSU giving her five penalty kick saves all-time with three in shootouts. The 'Eaters allowed 23 goals all year, and in the last month spanning nine games have allowed 20 total shots on goal including five of the 22 vs. UCLA.
Β·Β UC Irvine's offense put home 27 goals including four in a 3:20-span at Bakersfield. They're one of the higher-volume Big West attacks with 11.55 shots per match, 5.55 corners per match, and called for just 9.59 fouls per match with the Big West's assist leader, Tati Fung, with eight, and seven different 'Eaters with a game-winning goal including Alyssa Moore who has four goals in six career NCAA Tournament matches and winners in both upsets of UCLA.

Β·Β The Anteaters did the unthinkable and upset UCLA again Friday, 1-0, thanks to an 87th-minute winner by Alyssa Moore set up by former Bruin Aislynn Crowder's set piece. Glo Hinojosa shone with five saves for her third NCAA shutout, and all this was with UCI down to 10 women after a 75th-minute red card. UC Irvine becomes the second team to ever upset a 1-seed in the NCAA First Round joining USC who did it to Santa Clara in 2006, also on a 87th-minute 1-0 goal.
