- She was tested early with her first career save in the first two minutes and four total saves in the first half.
- UCI had a solo shot from Oona Hartman on target but saved in a scoreless half
Second Half Tricks
- The hosts continued to piled up the shots after 12 in the first half and more Jones saves to begin the second.
- They finally got one to fall in the 80th minute
- A service toward the back post hit Natalie Oca whose sliding kick went in for the 1-0 UC San Diego lead
- A second goal in the 86th minute was nearly turned away by Jones who was off her line challenging a 1v1 opportunity and tipped a high shot up, but it had enough behind it to cross the line before being cleared to make it 2-0
UC San Diego 2, UC Irvine 0
- The loss ends UC Irvine's season as they finish ninth in the Big West standings.
- Jones in her debut saved nine saves matching the team's highest since 2018 from Sara Paul's nine-save performance just last match.
