IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine baseball follows up its Big West champion campaign and NCAA Tournament berth in 2021 with another 56-game slate revealed today by head coach Ben Orloff.

Games begin in the coming weeks as the program will host two fall contests in Anteater Ballpark starting with UCLA on Saturday, November 6. The following Saturday will be another 12:00 p.m. first pitch hosting San Diego.

The return to baseball also includes the return to 100% capacity in Anteater Ballpark after the attendance limitations last season. Fans will be able to attend the fall games with tickets and information available here.

The Spring 2022 season opens on the road February 18 for UC Irvine with a trip to Lafayette, Louisiana taking on another top-tier college program, University of Louisiana, in likely a raucous environment at 6,000-seat M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field. Anteater Ballpark will be open for 28 contests this season welcoming in programs from the Pac-12, Big Ten, and four of the five 2021 NCAA Tournament squads from a year ago on UCI's ledger.

Home baseball starts with the first midweek contest since 2019 with San Diego State coming in on February 22. The 2022 schedule returns to a familiar look with three-game weekend series and weekly midweek matchups throughout. UCI's home opener kicks off a stretch with 12 of 16 games in Anteater Ballpark through a majority of the month of March. Some exciting non-conference matchups show up then starting with NCAA Tournament team from 2021 in Grand Canyon. Another tournament squad, Arizona State, plays a midweek, two-game set, March 8-9, before a return trip from Big Ten's Iowa, March 11-13, rounds out the non-conference weekends. In the midst of that home run will be a return trip to Oregon State for a three-game set against the Beavers, March 4-6.

Big West play also kicks off at home with UC Davis completing that stretch of home baseball starting March 18. Big West opponents that fans will see in Anteater Ballpark in 2022 includes CSUN, Cal Poly, CSU Bakersfield, and UC Santa Barbara in addition to a midweek matchup with Cal State Fullerton.

Among the midweek opponents include the returns of Loyola Marymount, San Diego, and UCLA in addition to the aforementioned Arizona State for two, Cal State Fullerton, and San Diego State.

The yearly non-conference series in the midst of Big West season will feature a road trip in 2022 as UCI head to Big 12 country for a weekend series at Kansas State, April 22-24.
