Sophie Gillies Signs to Fulham FC

LONDON, England --- Anteater women's soccer alum and England native Sophie Gillies continued her rise through the professional ranks signing with London's original football club, Fulham FC.
The 2023 alum of the program is entering her fourth year as a professional as she returned to her Exeter City FC, the club she was with prior to coming to the states and UCI, scoring 109 goals in over 100 matches with the Grecians helping the club earn promotion to third tier FA Women's National League where they have played since.
Gillies departed from the club earlier in the summer before picking up with Fulham last week and signing. The Cottagers are in their four iteration as a club re-forming in 2018 and only recently reaching the National League where they will be competing against Exeter City FC this season following consecutive promotions.

"I'm really excited and really looking forward to a fresh start at a massive club, there's some really exciting things happening behind the scenes," noted Gillies about her move to Fulham. "I've never played at a Premier League stadium, and it's always a special occasion when we do play in stadiums. It was great when we used to play at St James Park [with Exeter City], so I'm sure it'll be the same at the Cottage. Eventually I'd like to achieve promotion with the club. I don't know what that looks like in a timeline sense but hopefully we have a really strong season this season."
