- The first inning was all UCI starting with Hunter Manning striking out a pair in a scoreless half inning. The offense got on the board after a leadoff walk to Daniel Polasek, a wild pitch, grounder to move him over, and an Auggie Gutierrez sacrifice fly made it 1-0 UCI
- Manning kept it going in the second inning striking out the side for two scoreless innings.
- Tim Grack took over and pitched well in the third. After loading the bases with no out in the fourth, he allowed a sacrifice fly, but left two in scoring position in a 1-1 tie
- The 'Eaters answered in the fifth inning with a three-run innings
- Lucas Schermer started things off with a single the other way
- With Schermer on second and two outs, Tommy Farmer belted a single to center to score him and take the lead back, 2-1
- The two-out hits kept coming with Daniel Polasek's sinking liner bringing in Farmer
- Frankie Carney's bouncer was thrown away to make it a 4-1 lead
- The bullpen did the rest starting with David Butler who stranded a runner from Grack and continued on for 2.1 scoreless frames
- Dane Grant got a groundout to strand two runners in the seventh
- Peyton Rodgers took over for Grant in the eighth with a runner on base getting a pair of popouts, and he cruised through the ninth fielding a comebacker for the final out
- The win takes UCI to 3-6 on the season against ranked opponents
- David Butler took home the win for his first this year and third of his career
- Peyton Rodgers earned the save, his third and first since February 20th
- The offense had just three hits that all came in the fifth inning with two driving in runs
