UC Irvine Falls 3-0 Saturday Night
April 12, 2026 | Baseball
HONOLULU, Hawai'i --- UC Irvine baseball dropped the series at Hawai'i with a 3-0 loss Saturday at Les Murakami Stadium.
- Early in the game, it was Hawai'i taking advantage of their opportunities
- A walk and a double with two outs in the first inning helped put a runner on third who would score on a wild pitch before the third out was recorded to lead 1-0
- In the third inning, it was a similar story with more traffic on the bases and a wild pitch with two outs allowing another run as UH held a 2-0 lead
- UCI's offense was stagnant yet able to get runners on base in each of the first eight innings from four hits, four walks, and a pair of errors, but were unable to string anything together. The result was a shutout for the Anteaters for the first time this season.
- Finnegan Wall was saddled with the loss allowing two runs to score, both from wild pitches, while tying a career high with six strikeouts in 3.2 innings
- Relievers were Ryder Brooks, allowing a run and no walks with four strikeouts in three innings, and Hunter Manning, recording four outs, three from strikeouts, in a scoreless outing.
- The offense scattered 10 baserunners and left eight of them on base
- Frankie Carney reached base safely three times including a hit and a walk
- Landon Gaz was the other to reach multiple times before being erased in the seventh inning to end his string of 10 consecutive plate appearances reaching base
