Anteaters Start Clash At Boulder Creek In Fifth

BOULDER CITY, Nevada – UC Irvine is tied for fifth place after the first round of The Clash at Boulder Creek Sunday at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.
The Anteaters recorded a score of 296 and are 13 shots behind tournament leader Long Beach State (283).
Sophomore Jasmine Chen paced UCI with a one-under par 71 and is tied for fourth place. She was one of eight players under par after the first 18 holes.
Junior Charlotte Ryoo posted a one-over 73 and is tied for 16th position. The 73 ties her season-best.
Senior Megan Yang and sophomore Kiana Briggs are tied for 47th place with a first round of 76, while freshman Alyson Sor is tied of 62nd with a score of 77. Playing as an individual, Chanelle Hwang shot an 84 and is 103rd.
Chen, Briggs and Sor each recorded two birdies.
The tournament continues with 18 holes Monday and Tuesday beginning with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
