Once again, UC Irvine women’s golf had a successful year, recording low rounds and top finishes throughout the 2025-26 season.

Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from the season.
The Anteaters finished in a tie for third at the Molly Collegiate Invitational. Katelyn Kong (4th) and Katherine Gerbing (10th) logged Top 10 finishes to lead UCI.
UCI capped the fall season with a third-place finish at the Golf Iconic Classic held at the New Mexico State Golf Course. The Anteaters ended with a three-day total of 859 (284-279-296). The 54-hole score of 859 ranked third best in the UCI record book. The first round of 284 was tied for the fourth lowest in school history. Kong carded an impressive five-under par 67 with five birdies on the first day. Her career-low score of 67 is tied for sixth-best all-time at UCI.

UCI started the spring schedule with a second-place performance at the San Diego State Classic with a score of 872 (284-294-294). The Anteaters recorded another round of 284 on the first day adding to the record book.
The Anteaters carded seven rounds in the 60s during the season, including Jenny Chang’s 68 on the first round of the San Diego State Classic on her way to a career-best fourth place finish (213).

On the second round of the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate, Kiana Briggs and Alona Avery shot rounds of 69.
Katherine Gerbing posted her best performance of the season at Silicon Valley Showcase held at the Green Hills Country Club. She was tied for ninth place with a three-round score of 218 (71-73-74), her second Top 10 performance.
The Anteaters ended the year with a sixth-place finish at the Big West Championship held at the Kaanapali Golf Resort with a three-day total of 879 (295-295-289). Jenny Chang fired four birdies within five holes on the final round to card a two-under par 70 and ended in a tie for 10th place with a 54-hole score of 218, her second Top 10 finish of the season. Alona Avery recorded back-to-back rounds of even par 72 and finished in 13th place with a score of 219 (75-72-72).

Katelyn Kong was selected to the second team, while Jenny Chang and Katherine Gerbing were named honorable mention.
Kong led the Anteaters with a 72.75 scoring average over 24 rounds. The Big West Golfer of the Month for October posted three Top 10 finishes, including a fourth-place performance at the Molly Collegiate Invitational (218). Kong participated in the Augusta National Women's Amateur in April and will be playing in the 81st U.S. Women's Open Championship this week at the Riviera Country Club.
Chang owned a 73.62 scoring mark over 26 rounds, led the Anteaters at three tournaments.
Gerbing had two Top 10 finishes, firing a season-low of 69 on the second round of the Golf Iconic Classic. She played 18 rounds in 2025-26 and recorded a 74.06 scoring average.
