BOULDER CITY, NV -- The freshman class continued to lead the Anteaters with
Jasmine Chen taking over today with a career-best 68 on the second round of The Clash at Boulder Creek Monday.
Chen started the day with four birdies on the back nine, including going three-under on holes 15-17. After a par on 18, she had three straight birdies to start the front nine before finishing with par the rest of the way. She currently sits in 10
th place with a two-day score of 143 (75-68). Chen is tied for second with nine birdies overall.
She is the ninth Anteater player to record a round of 68 all-time. It is the fifth time this season a UCI player has fired a round under 70.
Freshman
Kiana Briggs is tied for 20
th with 36-hole score of 146 (72-74). Briggs, who led the Anteaters on the first round, has recorded seven birdies over the last two days.
Briggs is second among tournament players on Par 4s (-2, 3.90), while Chen is third on Par 3s (-2, 2.75).
Megan Yang shot even par 72 today and is tied for 48
th with a score of 147 (75-72), while
Nicole Zhang is tied for 54
th after recording back-to-back rounds of 75 (150).
Charlotte Ryoo totaled a 78 for the second consecutive day and is tied for 71st at 156.
As a team, UCI shot another round of 297 and is tied for eighth with a score of 594.
The tournament concludes tomorrow with a shotgun start at 6:00 a.m. PT
