· The Anteaters split their matches on the week starting on the road at UC Davis. The sides slugged it out scoreless through 80 minutes with minimal amount of shots. The Aggies found some good fortune as a rebound off the post returned to the shooter who buried it for the only goal in a 1-0 Aggie win
· UCI turned things around Saturday night at home with it's own 1-0 shutout win over Sacramento State. UCI now has two straight wins at home and posted its first shutout of 2022.
Ashish Chattha scored his third career game-winner, while putting up eight shots for half of the team's 16 shots and out-shooting Sac State's seven.
· The Anteater scoring leader is
Agaton Pourshahidi after his first career brace vs. Cal State Fullerton. He has accounted for three of UCI's seven goals and earned Big West Freshman of the Week two times

Luke Pruter picked up his second career shutout with and fourth career win. He's up to 50 saves on the year and 16 in Big West matches, both tying for the Big West lead. His 1,170 minutes rank second in all of the NCAA.
· Big West play is four matches into the nine-match conference season. The Anteaters sit in a four-way tie at six points with two opponents still on the schedule, CSUN and UCSD. Everyone is looking up at UC Santa Barbara at eight points with seven point teams Cal State Fullerton, UC Davis, and UC Riverside
· The Anteaters are at UC Riverside to start the week Wednesday night. The Highlanders have risen with three straight unbeaten after a road tie at Cal Poly Saturday. UCR struggled to one non-conference win and a loss to CSUN to open Big West. Thirteen different players have accounted for a point with Noah Lopez (4 G, 3 A) and Brendan Clark (3 G, 2 A) collecting a majority of it. Leopoldo Hernandez has registered six assists alongside them. Former Anteater coach Chris Volk also remains on the UC Riverside sideline as an assistant where he has posted up since joining them in 2017
· The week ends in Anteater Stadium with a visit from nationally-ranked UC Santa Barbara. The Gauchos were picked to win the conference preseason and are looking the part with a point in each match and no goals allowed in Big West by Leroy Zeller who has 43 saves. The team is among the nation's leaders and top the Big West in GAA and save percentage, and also commit most fouls in the Big West at 11.08 per match. The attack is led by Finn Ballard McBride's six goals, five from Salvador Aguilar, and Lucas Gonzalez's four assists. UCI fell 4-0 to UCSB in last year's tournament final, but remain 1-1-3 against the Gauchos under coach Raz.
