+ Ferran Duran was finally able to make his collegiate debut up at Pacific. He came home to make his Anteater Stadium debut and deposited his first career goal and point to open his first career start against Missouri State

Anteater scoring had three goals each in the first three matches and 10 goals through four matches. Gage Lyons scored in each of the first three and added an assist while Marcus had a point in each of the three matches with a goal and two assists

+ UCI has earned one weekly award to Javier Bedolla Vera named Big West Rookie of the Week following his goal at Pacific

+ Brady Treinen has contributed an assist in three of the four matches. He was named to the TopDrawerSoccer Preseason top 100 list at No. 77

+ Anteater goalkeeping has made 13 saves with Joe O'Shaughnessy making three starts with 11 of the saves and a win while Scott Williams has a shutout win in his lone match

+ UC Irvine has seen 10 Anteater debuts and seven making collegiate debuts. That has included 10 starts, two goals, and a shutout win from keeper Scott Williams who is in his sixth collegiate season

+ National rankings came out Tuesday and included UC Irvine. The 'Eaters received two votes and faced another vote-getter in Missouri State. UCI faced ranked USD next. The 'Eaters were ranked twice in 2025 reaching as high as No. 20

Last Week

+ The 'Eaters dropped its first match of 2026 and their first home match since 2024. An early lead in the 22nd minute from Ferran Duran was quickly evened in the 28th minute, and the Bears grabbed the lead and game-winner in the 81st minute

Tuesday vs. the Toreros

+ San Diego is flying high ranked in the top 10 most of the season with a 3-1-1 record losing only to No. 1 Stanford. They're coming off a 13-win season that ended in the NCAA First Round

+ All-time USD has a stranglehold with 21 wins in 32 matchups including the last two meetings. UCI is 1-3-1 under coach Raz, and is 5-3-2 since 2008

+ The Toreros are led by Hermann Trophy Watch List and All-Far West Region Iain Wagner. So far, most of the scoring has come from Steven Ramirez (3 G, 2 A) and Noah James (2 G).

Sunday vs. the Rebels

+ UNLV has jumped out to a 2-2-1 start defeating CSUN and CSUB, and a draw with UC Riverside, and UCSD still to come. The Rebels last winning season came in 2017 earning four total wins in 2025

+ All-time UNLV holds the 19-7-1 edge, but UCI has more of the recent success with seven wins in the last 11 matches including three straight wins since 2011 in Anteater Stadium

+ The Rebels averaged less than 10 shots a game with four of their five goals between sophomore Maxim Scordo and fifth-year Nick Legendre
