Koss Named Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week
May 29, 2019 | Baseball
Irvine, Calif. – This week's Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week is Christian Koss of the baseball team. The junior shortstop had a historic game in the team's colossal 22-7 victory over UC Riverside on Saturday.
Koss went 6-6 while reaching base seven times and scoring six runs. This is only the third time in UCI history that a player had six hits and it is the first time a player has scored six runs. Koss had some added motivation because he is a Riverside native and was playing in front of family and friends. This fueled him to a double, a home run, two RBIs, and a stolen base.
Koss had a big week overall to help the 'Eaters win three of four games. He was 10-of-20 with seven runs, four RBIs, and a couple stolen bases while improving his hitting streak to 15 games. This weekend series win allowed the team to move into a tie for second place in the Big West.
