Anteaters Reveal Loaded 2019 Baseball Schedule

IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine baseball brings some real firepower into its season starting with a loaded slate of opponents lining the 58 games between 2018 and 2019

This November, catch a glimpse of the 2019 UC Irvine Baseball roster as they host the University of San Diego in a first-ever fall exhibition home matchup.
There will be lots of interactive ticketing features involved with the fall contest including:
The Anteaters will play a second fall game at UCLA on Saturday, November 3 with a start time of 12:00 p.m.
Season Opener vs. Washington – February 15-17 - Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark
UC Irvine's 2019 season takes off with a heavy-hitting matchup against the Pac-12's Washington Huskies following their first appearance in the College World Series in 2018
In all, the Anteaters will play eight games against Pac-12 schools in Anteater Ballpark with visits from UCLA and USC in May, and a three-game series vs. Washington State leading into Big West play.
Heavyweight Pitching Weekend vs. St. John's – March 8-10 - Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark
2018 NCAA Tournament participant St. John's visits Anteater Ballpark in early March stocked with one of the stingiest pitching staffs in the nation that ranked fifth in the NCAA in ERA and among the leaders in strikeouts and shutouts. The series will be highlighted by the probable pitching matchup of aces and College Baseball Hall of Fame National Pitcher of the Year Finalists Andre Pallante and Sean Mooney.
Robust Midweek Matchups vs. Michigan, Cal State Fullerton, UCLA, USC, and more...
The Anteaters heat up the midweek meetings with a clutch of power 5 programs starting with the Michigan Wolverines from the Big Ten playing Wednesday, March 6 in Anteater Ballpark. NCAA Tournament participant from a year ago in San Diego State returns as does San Diego.
A fourth meeting with Cal State Fullerton has been added on Tuesday, April 30 in Anteater Ballpark tagging onto the end of the three-game weekend series at Fullerton on April 26-28.
The midweek slate finishes strong in May with visits from UCLA (May 14) and USC (May 21) to Anteater Ballpark.
Challenging Non-Conference Trips to Rice, Missouri State, Iowa, and Utah Valley
UC Irvine strengthens its non-conference profile with trips to perennial baseball powers and competitive road foes beginning with the Rice Owls on February 22-24. The veteran program filled with 23 NCAA Regional appearances, 7 College World Series trips, and a College World Series title in 2003 is under new leadership as it tangles with the Anteaters early in the season
The 'Eaters turn around and travel to Missouri State, a program with 12 seasons of 40+ wins and a CWS trip in 2003, who is coming off its 10th trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2018
UCI looks to exact revenge against Utah Valley traveling to Orem, Utah during the opening rounds of the NCAA Basketball Tournament, March 15-17, after the Wolverines stole the series in Anteater Ballpark in 2018
UC Irvine drops a non-conference series in the middle of conference play heading out to Iowa City to face another Big Ten school, the Iowa Hawkeyes, May 3-5, coming off finish in the top half of the Big Ten and series wins against three ranked programs

New Game Start Times Unveiled for 2019 Season
The 'Eaters will feature new times for a majority of their 27 home meetings in 2018.
All night games will begin at 6:00 p.m. which includes Tuesdays, Fridays, and now Saturdays will change to an evening start at 6:00 p.m. Sunday games remain during the day at 1:00 p.m. The Anteaters do have one matchup on a Wednesday (March 6 vs. Michigan) and one on a Thursday (April 18 vs. CSUN) which will each have a 6:00 p.m. start
