Mike Gillespie Honored in 2018 USC Hall of Fame Class

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- UC Irvine baseball coach Mike Gillespie was selected as 1 of 18 Trojan greats to be introduced as the 2018 USC Athletic Hall of Fame class.
This honor follows his induction to the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2010 having accrued more than 1,100 wins where he's earned National Coach of the Year honors twice on the Division I level, three times on the community college level, and once from the United States Olympic Committee.
Gillespie was member of the Trojan baseball team as an infielder and outfielder for the 1960 squad that reached the College World Series title game and the 1961 squad that took home the National Championship. He returned to the program as the head coach in 1987 leading the program to five conference titles, 14 NCAA Regional appearances, and four trips to the College World Series which included a CWS crown in 1998.
After 763 wins with the Trojans, he has continued his success with the Anteater program recently becoming UCI's all-time winningest baseball head coach including a return trip to the College World Series in 2014 as he enters his 11th year with the program.
