Colette Swensen is in her second season with the UC Irvine women's soccer team. Swensen has been a volunteer assistant coach for the Anteaters since 2010.
Swensen has had a lot of coaching experience prior to her time at UCI. She has coached at Mark Krikorian Soccer Academy, West Boca Raton High School, Team Boca Soccer Club, and youth development coach for the Philadelphia Independence women's professional soccer club. Along with UCI, she is a director at Saddleback United Soccer Club and head coach of the Girls U-12 team.
Swensen has journeyed all over starting in Florida where she was a captain as a senior at Florida State University. FSU made the NCAA Final Four in three of the four years she played there. After graduating with an English major emphasizing in Creative Writing, Swensen traveled from Florida around to Delaware, where she was the captain of the WPSL Central Delaware Soccer Association, New Jersey, and overseas to Europe where she studied abroad in an Intensive French program and played in Finland in the Women's Finnish Professional Soccer League.
Swensen is continuing her studies as she will complete her pursuit of a Master's Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University, Irvine the summer of 2012.
A 2007 graduate of Florida State, Swensen played professionally in Finland following her four year career with Florida State which saw her help the Seminoles to the Women's Soccer College Cup three times.
She holds a "E" coaching license from CalSouth, a "F" license from NJYSA.
