June 02, 2026 | Women's Soccer
IRVINE, Calif.-- UC Irvine women's soccer brings in another transfer in Sara Paul.
On the coattails of the transfer signings of Mimi Dominguez and Mimi Yamamoto, Paul rides in as a graduate transfer from within the Big West to become the 17th new Anteater this offseason.
Paul has spent the last two seasons at Cal State Bakersfield having yet to see the field but in the process of earning her psychology degree. Prior to CSUB, she played a season at LA Valley College where she was a team captain for two years which included the 2023 season starting all 21 matches and picking up 109 saves and six shutouts, and in the classroom was a Dean's List honoree and took home the Presidents Distinguised Honor Award in 2024. The well-traveled goalkeeper even got a year at Dominican University in Northern California in her first venture out of college. The Woodland Hills-native was a league champion in high school playing at El Camino Real Charter High School.
"Coach Wendy circled Sara on the recruiting board after doing a lot of research. We look closely at all the goalkeeper specific pieces of the puzzle but also the personality and character pieces in a big way. Sara was clearly someone who could not just fit into our team culture but help to grow it. She is excited to get the gloves on and get to work." - head coach Scott Juniper
