Ben Orloff Signs Contact Extension with UC Irvine Baseball

IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine baseball head coach Ben Orloff has signed a contract extension to guide the Anteater program through the 2030 season.

"Coach Orloff has built a championship caliber program defined by sustained success, player development and national respect, and this extension reflects our confidence in his leadership and the future of UC Irvine Baseball," raved Athletic Director Paula Smith.

In seven seasons under Orloff, the Anteaters have won two Big West titles and reached NCAA Regionals in three seasons. The team has a .683-win percentage under his tenure winning 246 games that includes winning seasons in all seven campaigns and hitting the 40-win mark three times. Notably, his Anteaters have 47 wins over Power 4 competition and a .552-win percentage in those games, has won 74% of their games in Anteater Ballpark, and spreading the program success wherever they play winning 124 games away from home producing an average RPI of 46.1 during his tenure.

For his success, he's earned Big West Coach of the Year twice including just last season and has produced honors for the team with six All-Americans, five Freshman All-Americans, nine major Big West award winners, and sent 33 'Eaters to the professional level with 28 through the MLB Draft and four players to already reach the Major League level.

Orloff, a UCI alumnus (BA Criminology, Law, & Society 2009), returns for his 13th year with the program as a coach and eighth year as the head coach. He brings with him the longest-tenured coaching staff on the West Coast with 22 years of experience with the Anteaters between Daniel Bibona entering his 14th year on staff and now eight years from J.T. Bloodworth.
