| By:
IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine baseball earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Regionals Monday and will head to the Los Angeles Regional.

NCAA Bracket

The Anteaters return to the postseason for the second straight season, third time under head coach Ben Orloff, and they come in as the Big West regular season champions for the third time going 24-6 in conference play. UCI finished the regular season with a record of 41-15 reaching the 40-win mark for the 10th time in its history and sixth time in the regular season. It is the 11th postseason appearance for UCI as a Division I program, ninth as an at-large, and 16th overall at any division.

Joining the 'Eaters over the weekend at Los Angeles are the hosts, UCLA, as a No. 15 national seed, Mountain West champion, Fresno State, and UCI's first round opponent from the Big 12 Conference, Arizona State. The Anteaters are Sun Devils last met in 2023 in a three-game series in Tempe. The sides have met 20 times before with UCI leading the all-time series, 11-9. Four-seed Fresno State and the 'Eaters have met 50 times before and twice in an NCAA Regional opening up both the 2009 Irvine Regional and 2010 Los Angeles Regional with Anteater wins.

UC Irvine makes its third trip to UCLA for a regional, first in 2010 and then again in 2011 when the 'Eaters won the regional. The teams have met 100 times in their histories including three times in regionals, and the teams split their two matchups in 2025 in the regular season.

Play begins Friday, May 30 as UC Irvine takes on Arizona State in the 6:00 p.m. matchup at Jackie Robinson Stadium to be broadcast on ESPNU. All games throughout the weekend will be shown on ESPN+ along with radio broadcasts on KUCI 88.9 FM with Mark Roberts.
