No. 20 Anteaters Use Triples in 8-4 Win

- The offenses traded blows early on with both teams leading twice in the first three innings
- The 'Eaters got a run in the first after Colin Yeaman tripled off the right fielder's glove and came around on Chase Call's groundout
- Utah Tech took their first lead with two outs after a double and home run made it 2-1
- UCI answered with their own two-run homer as Zach Fjelstad lifted his first as an Anteater deep to right-center for a 3-2 lead
- The Trailblazers answered with two-out RBIs on a triple and single to go back ahead, 4-3, in the third
- An error on a Chase Call groundball single put him on third base as Rowan Felsch brought him home on a single just over the shortstop to tie it back up, 4-4
- The sides were even until the 'Eaters took the lead in the fifth on a clutch, Frankie Carney, single through the right side in his 2025 debut to make it 5-4
- Blake Penso had the crushing blow in the sixth inning doubling into the corner to score two again with two outs to grow the lead to 7-4
- Ryder Brooks on the mound settled down the game with four scoreless innings of relief and taking home his first win of the year
- His four innings and six strikeouts were both career highs
- Jacob McCombs topped things off with an RBI triple in the eighth inning, one of three Anteater triples in the game
- Max Martin and Ricky Ojeda threw scoreless baseball for the final 2.1 innings to wrap things up on the mound
- Will Bermudez tied a program record with three hit by pitch in the game, and in the process he broke the program's all-time hit by pitch record now at 53 in his career surpassing Mike Peabody
- Zach Fjelstad led the offense with a double, triple, and home run on the night scoring twice and driving in two
