CORVALLIS, Ore. --- UC Irvine baseball and Oregon State played into the fourth inning before play was suspended due to weather and field conditions.
The game will resume Monday, June 3 at 12:06 p.m. picking up with a runner on first base for the Anteaters and nobody out in a game the 'Eaters trail, 6-4. UC Irvine needs to win to survive on to Game 7 which will be played later Monday if necessary.
The game started out with sixth-year
Nick Rincover starting and striking out two in a scoreless first inning. UCI's bats answered with a four-run first inning highlighted by a three-run home run by
Dub Gleed for a 4-0 lead. Oregon State answered with five runs in the second inning to go in front and added a run in the fourth inning on a wild pitch when the weather began to become a factor. In the bottom of the inning, the first pitch from starter Eric Segura went behind
Thomas McCaffrey for a hit by pitch before the call was made to suspend the game.
