Max Daniels Set to Compete in Big West Decathlon

IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team kicks off the 2023 Big West Championships with the decathlon, May 5-6, at Cal State Fullerton's Titan Track Complex.
Max Daniels is set to compete in his first NCAA Division I decathlon. The sophomore transfer was the 2022 California Community College Athletic Association state champion at Mt. SAC. He won the title with a personal-record 6,577 points.
This year, Daniels has established lifetime bests in the 110m hurdles (15.22), high jump (5-11.25), shot put (39-11.25) and discus (132-5).
The remainder of the Big West Championships are slated for May 12-13 at Titan Track Complex.
