
Anteaters Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

IRVINE, Calif. — UC Irvine men's track & field has been named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, while graduate student Darrin Campbell earned individual all-academic honors as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Anteaters received their sixth team recognition in the last seven years. To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, programs must carry a minimum 3.00 cumulative team GPA.
Campbell secured his first career USTFCCCA All-Academic award. He was an NCAA West First Round qualifier and Big West scorer in the javelin. During the regular season, the Salem, Oregon, native established a season-best 64.24 meters (210-9) to rank fourth in program history. Campbell also made the Big West Commissioner's Honor Roll with Highest Honors.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25, and have completed at least two semesters or three quarters at their current institution. They also must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
