Okonkwo, Duggan Wrap up Action in Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team wrapped up action at the NCAA West First Round Friday in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Senior Kenechukwu Okonkwo was 21st in the triple jump. After fouling on his first two attempts, the 2026 Big West champion came through with a leap of 15.52 meters (50-11) in the third and final round. This was Okonkwo's best finish in his third career NCAA West First Round meet. He will graduate with the No. 2 mark in program history (15.83m/51-11.25).
Graduate student Joe Duggan started the day with a 32nd-place showing in the discus. His top mark of the meet came on his first attempt where he hit 53.10 meters (174-2). Duggan capped an impressive year in which he had a podium finish at the Big West Championships and established a personal-record 56.62m (185-9) that ranks fifth in school history.
