IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine baseball is back for the 2023 season with 56 games, 28 at home, and once again a high-caliber slate of competition.

The season begins in Anteater Ballpark with a traditionally successful baseball program in Tulane from the American Athletic Conference. Like the 'Eaters, they've had just three losing seasons since 2002 and have posted winning seasons in each of its last four years as the programs go head-to-head starting February 17 for a three-game series.

UCI bounces around on the road quite a bit the next three weeks starting at USC for its first Tuesday matchup, February 21, and an invite to the Tony Gwynn Legacy tournament where they will play Washington State, San Diego, and UNLV across the three San Diego schools' parks. The road action continues at Arizona State to begin March followed by a trip to another perennial postseason contender in Gonzaga.

UCI's first midweek home game features a high-profile matchup with Michigan out of the Big Ten. The rest of UCI's midweek schedule features home-and-home series with LMU, USD, San Diego State, UCLA, and USC in addition to a one-off game at Cicerone Field with Fresno State in early April.

Kansas State treks out for a return trip in the middle of conference play April 21-23 to complete the non-conference weekend series. All Anteater weekend series will see Friday night matchups starting at 6:00 p.m. followed by 1:00 p.m. first pitch on all Saturday and Sunday games.

Big West play starts just ahead of finals week with Cal State Fullerton coming to Anteater Ballpark, March 17-19. Joining the Titans at UCI this season are UC San Diego, Long Beach State on Easter Weekend, Hawai'i, and the final series of 2023 on Memorial Day Weekend hosting UC Riverside.

The 'Eaters are coming off another winning season of 32-24 and 16 Big West wins. The 'Eaters have four straight winning season and 19 in 21 seasons since bringing the program back. UCI touts 12 games against Power 5 programs after going 8-5 against them a year ago including a 5-2 record against the Pac-12. UCI plays eight games against the conference with six away from home.
