UCI Adds Three More Event Wins at Fullerton Spring Invite

FULLERTON, Calif. - The UC Irvine women's track & field team added three more event wins on the second and final day of the Fullerton Spring Invitational Friday at Titan Track Complex.
Freshman Aryel Coats earned her second individual victory in the 100m, finishing ahead of the field in 12.11 seconds. Junior Jaida Robinson chipped in a personal-record 12.70 to come in eighth.
Senior Cecily Montanez won the 400m hurdles with a lifetime-best 62.51. Sophomore Amari Fraser also notched a PR 63.86 (4th), while junior Kayla Rodriguez had a sixth-place showing (65.42). Fraser contributed a top-three finish in the 100m hurdles (14.80).
Senior Natalie Koppel led five 'Eaters in the 200m with a runner-up performance (25.24), and took third in the long jump (17-07). Robinson wasn't far behind in the 200m where she was third overall (25.74).
Freshman Mia Marquez registered a personal-best 57.05 to place second in the 400m.
In the triple jump, senior Hanna Coloma (35-09.5) and junior Citlali Pichardo (34-05.5) were fourth and fifth, respectively. Junior Sara Griffith also cleared a collegiate-best of 5-01 in the high jump.
The 4x400 relay team wrapped up the meet with the Anteaters' third victory of the day (3:55.13).
