TULSA, Okla. - Graduate transfer Riccardo Roberto cruised to a straight-set win in the ITA All-American Championships pre-qualifying singles Round of 128 Saturday at the Case Tennis Center.

Roberto, who received a first-round bye, faced Guillaume Tattevin of fellow Big West member Hawai'i in his first match of the prestigious tournament. Roberto made quick work of Tattevin with a 6-1, 6-2 victory.

Roberto advances to tomorrow's pre-qualifying singles Round of 64 where he will go up against Max McKennon of Arizona State.

SAN DIEGO - Juniors Ali Amiri and Matthew Sah led the UC Irvine men's tennis team on the second day of the Hagedorn Hidden Dual Saturday at the University of San Diego.

The Anteaters played four singles matches against Denver, with Amiri and Sah both winning in three sets. Amiri bounced back from a first-set loss to take down Mattia Ros, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5. Sah was also down early before finding his stride in a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory over Daniel Krulig.

The 'Eaters squared off against the host Toreros in doubles. USD came out on top in both matches with Amiri/Mike Mkrtchian falling to Nikhil Niranjan/Alex Stater, 8-3, and Sah/Thomas Smart dropping an 8-4 decision to Sacchitt Sharma/Blake Kasday.

UC Irvine will close out action at the Hagedorn Hidden Dual tomorrow at 10 a.m. UCI is set to face San Diego in singles and Kennesaw State in doubles.
