Guajardo Wins Wild Card into Main Draw of Upcoming ITF Event

IRVINE, Calif. - Freshman Alex Guajardo has earned a Wild Card into the main draw of the ITF M15 event at Lakewood Tennis Center, May 25-31.

Guajardo secured the wild card entry by advancing to the finals of the Level 5 Open: SoCal Pro Series at Lakewood, May 15-19. He went 5-0 on the week, including a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Pavel Bushuev in the semifinals.

Guajardo was a staple in UC Irvine's doubles lineup this season, seeing action in all but one dual match as a true freshman. He played primarily alongside Sohrob Amiryavari at No. 3. The duo finished with six victories, four of which were point-clinching wins. Guajardo saw limited action in singles, going 5-5 overall and 1-0 in duals. Β
