IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine's seven-goal weekend was spearheaded by junior Noel Baham's two goals and three assists helping her win Big West Offensive Player of the Week honors.
The award for Baham is her first, and the first for the program since Alana Sooy and Clarissa Robles won for defense in consecutive weeks in 2014. The last offensive recipient was Laura McGrail near the tailend of 2013.
Baham had a goal and an assist in each of UCI's wins in the Fullerton Tournament over the weekend. Her extra effort to head a ball off the crossbar led to the 'Eaters' game-winner in the 88th minute to drop previously unbeaten Oregon, 3-2.
She followed that up Sunday with a goal and assist in the first half, and a second assist to close out the scoring in a 4-0 win over UAB helping UCI to its third straight win and a 7-1 record on the season.
The junior and the rest of the squad head back out on the road for three straight matches away from home starting Wed. Sept. 15 at 3:00 p.m. at Idaho State.
