'EATERS MEET BEARS IN MPSF QUARTERS: UC Irvine, 15-11 overall, is seeded No. 7 and will face No. 2 seed California (20-3) in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament quarterfinal Friday (Nov. 25) at 11:30 a.m. at UCLA's Spieker Aquatics Center.
The teams have met once previously this season with Cal winning 14-6 in an MPSF game at Berkeley Oct. 30.
Coach Marc Hunt's UCI squad has been idle from competition since a 12-10 loss at UC Santa Barbara Nov. 12.

UCI'S SCORING LEADERS: Sophomore Mitch Wise leads UCI in scoring with 65 goals and he ranks second in the MPSF at 2.50 goals per game.
Senior Trent Baxter has scored 48 goals, junior Nick Pfeil 39, senior Max Parrague 29, and senior Sam Figueroa and redshirt freshman Jacob Mourer have 24 each.
Redshirt freshman Alan Robertson has 20 goals, junior Brian Pickford has 17, junior Winston Newland 16 and redshirt freshman Kyle Kittlitz has 10 goals to complete UCI's double-digit scorers.
IN GOAL: Junior Jimmy Friedrich has 109 saves in 19 games, redshirt freshman Michael Bailey has 85 saves in 14 appearances and sophomore Alex Kazmier 60 stops in 10 contests.
