Rei Harashima closed out the UC San Diego Invitational with his second-straight round of 68 (-4) to lead the UC Irvine men's golf team Tuesday at Torrey Pines' North Course.

Over the final two rounds, Harashima climbed 41 spots into a tie for fifth out of 104 golfers. He carded a season-best 54-hole score to par at 6-under 210 (74-68-68). The Chula Vista native had six birdies on the day, increasing his tournament total to a team-best 13. This was the Anteaters' highest individual finish of the season, and Harashima's eighth career top-10 performance. It was also his fifth sub-70 score of the year.

Junior
Jason Tang tied for 43rd at 4-over 220 (70-72-78), while sophomore
Jack Yu tied for 63rd with a 223 (74-73-76). Sophomores
Tommy Lin (229) and
Owen Davis-Piger (231) rounded out UCI's 5-count-4 lineup.

As a team, the 'Eaters placed 13th with a 54-hole total of 878 (296-287-295). No. 61 LMU completed the wire-to-wire victory at 18-under 846 (279-282-285). The Lions' Nateeshvar Anatha Ganesh was the individual champion with a 13-under 203 (66-65-72).

UC Irvine is back in action next week when it travels to Maricopa, Arizona, for the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, March 31-April 1.
