UC Irvine begins the spring season at the San Diego State Classic Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 9-10) at The Heights Golf Club.
The course plays Par 72 with 6,376 yards on Monday and 6,356 yards on Tuesday.
Teams will play 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 on Tuesday. Each day begins with a 8 a.m. shotgun start.
The Anteaters will be paired with Santa Clara and Northern Colorado Monday.
UCI's team features Katelyn Kong, Jenny Chang, Alona Avery, Chelsie Chin and Kiana Briggs.
Participating Teams include California Baptist, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State San Marcos, Fresno State, Northern Colorado, Oregon State, Sacramento State, San Diego State, Santa Clara, UC Davis, UC Riverside.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
A pair of third place finishes highlighted the Fall results, including an impressive score of 859 to finish third at the NMSU Golf Iconic Classic. The 54-hole score ranked third best in the UCI record book.
The Anteaters shot a round of 284 over the first 18 holes which was tied for the fourth lowest in school history then fired a school record second round of 279.
Katelyn Kong earned her first career Big West Golf of the Month award after posting two top 10 finishes in October. The sophomore placed sixth at the Marilyn Smith Sunflower Invitational (218) then ended the month in a tie for eighth at the Golf Iconic Classic, posting a 67 on the first round, which is tied for sixth-best all-time at UCI.
