TEEING OFF
The UC Irvine women's golf team is set to tee off the 2026-27 campaign at the 2026 Branch Law Firm/McGuire Invitational, hosted by the University of New Mexico, Sept. 14-15 at the UNM Championship Course in Albuquerque, N.M. The two-day tournament will mark the beginning of the Anteaters' new season as they look to build momentum against a competitive 13-team field.
The tournament field features a strong mix of programs from across the West and beyond, including host New Mexico, UNLV, the University of Texas at El Paso, Pepperdine, Fresno State, the University of Nevada, Northern Arizona, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Montana State. The Anteaters will also see several familiar Big West opponents, with CSUN, Cal State Fullerton and Sacramento State joining the field.
UC Irvine will send a new-look lineup to Albuquerque, with all five newcomers making their debut in the Anteater lineup. Zoe Sprecher and Obi Chan will compete in their first tournament representing UC Irvine, while Veronica Man and Jio Yoo are set to make their first collegiate appearances. Apple Zheng rounds out the starting lineup as the Anteaters open the new campaign.
Madeline Lee will also make her first appearance for UC Irvine, competing as an individual. With a combination of returning experience and a talented group of newcomers, the Anteaters will look to make an early statement as they begin the 2026-27 season.
