Sprecher Finishes in Top 10 at Dick McGuire Invitational

IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine women's golf placed 11th at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, which concluded Tuesday afternoon.
The Anteaters carded a 54-hole team total of 896 (299-299-298). UCI ranked seventh in the field with 38 birdies and 152 pars. The 'Eaters also finished fifth in par-5 scoring (4.92), tied for seventh in par-3 scoring (3.17), and placed 10th in par-4 scoring (4.33).
Zoe Sprecher paced UC Irvine with a tie for 10th after finishing at even-par 216 (71-71-74). She opened the tournament with back-to-back rounds of one-under 71 before closing with a two-over 74. Sprecher also tied for eighth in the field with 11 birdies and totaled 32 pars.
Jio Yoo tied for 28th with a 54-hole score of 221 (72-75-74). She tied for 13th with 10 birdies, recorded 29 pars, and tied for ninth in par-5 scoring at 4.67.
Veronica Man tied for 49th with a 229 (77-78-74). She tied for 15th in the tournament with 36 pars while adding four birdies.
Obi Chan also tied for 49th with a 229 (79-75-75). She finished the tournament with seven birdies and 31 pars.
Competing as an individual, Madeline Lee tied for 61st with a 232 (78-76-78). She recorded 31 pars over the three rounds.
Apple Zheng tied for 72nd with a 238 (79-82-77), totaling 24 pars and six birdies.
UP NEXT: UC Irvine returns to action Sept. 21-23 at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in Wolcott, Colo. The tournament is scheduled to begin with an 8 a.m. tee time.
