Anteaters Close Out Bruin Wave Invitational In Seventh Place

VALENCIA, Calif. -- UC Irvine moved up one spot, ending the Bruin Wave Invitational in seventh place.
The Anteaters shot a final round of 303 at the Valencia Country Club and recorded a 54-hole total of 913 (308-302-303). No. 1 Stanford won the tournament with a 21-under par 843, led by medalist Paula Martin Sampedro (209).
Sophomore Alona Avery led Anteaters in a tie for 24th place with a score of 225 (76-74-75), followed by sophomore Katelyn Kong in a tie for 26th at 226 (76-74-76).
Graduate student Jenny Chang finished in a tie for 31st with a total 229 (76-77-76). Freshman Chelsie Chin was tied for 43rd with a three round score of 233 (80-77-76), while senior Kiana Briggs was tied for 68th at 242 (82-79-81).
UCI will take a break until Mar. 23-24 when they will compete at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Invitational at the Wigwam Golf Club.
