May 09, 2025 | Men's Track & Field
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Senior Max Daniels, who is battling through an injury, competed in four of the first five events of the decathlon at the Big West Multi-Event Championships Friday afternoon at Jack Rose Track.
Daniels got out to a strong start, running a wind-aided personal-record 10.57 in the 100m (+2.1). It was the second-fastest time in the competition. After fouling on all three attempts in the long jump, Daniels came back in the shot put with a best of 12.15 meters (39-10.5). He then cleared 1.60m (5-3) in the high jump, but was unable to start the 400m.
The Big West decathlon continues tomorrow with the 110m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1500m. Action gets underway at 12 p.m. at Jack Rose Track.
