IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine women's track & field kicked off the Vince O'Boyle Classic with the hammer and long jump Friday at Anteater Stadium.

DeAna Davis opened Flight 3 of the hammer competition with a personal-record 57.65 meters (189-1). That mark moved her up one spot to No. 2 in program history. She placed second in a field of 34 athletes as CSUN's Summer Mosley took first with a meet-record 58.19m (190-11).

Reyna Johnson led a trio of Anteaters in the long jump where she claimed runner-up honors with a wind-aided personal-record 6.34 meters (20-9.75). Johnson came in behind UCLA's Sydney Johnson who also had a wind-aided PR of 6.79m (22-3.5).

Jolie Robinson was fourth out of 34 in the long jump with a leap of 6.03m (19-9.5). Senior
Jazzmine Davis added a top-10 showing (5.62m/18-5.25).

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Anteater distance crew competed in the Mangrum Invitational Friday evening at Cal State San Marcos.

Sophomore
Kaia Schmidt won the 5000-meter in a personal-record 16:56.08 to lead six 'Eaters in the top-10. Schmidt was the only athlete in the field of 36 to run a sub-17-minute race. It was her third individual victory of the season as she also finished ahead of the pack in the steeplechase at the Beach Opener and in the 1500m at the Challenge Cup.

Makena Castillo clocked in at 17:20.13 to place third in her first collegiate outdoor 5K. Junior
Nicole Contreras took fourth in a lifetime-best 17:22.06, while freshman
Liana Lee was fifth with a PR 17:22.92. Freshman
Cynthia Herrera added a personal-best 17:24.90 to come in sixth, and senior
Montgomery Allison rounded out the group in 10th (17:48.57).

Anna Vogtmann was the runner-up in the 1500m with a time of 4:29.87. Senior
Malia Gay was also third in a season-best 4:32.04. Seniors
Luz Mercado (4:32.63) and
Maggie Sczupak (4:35.26) both registered PRs to place fourth and seventh, respectively. Sophomore
Malia Leupold (4:47.47), freshman
Arden Keeton (4:53.57) and junior
Stella Knobbe (4:53.59) all ran lifetime bests.

Breckyn Kornachuk crossed the finish line in a personal-record 11:13.14 to take eighth out of 25. Freshman
