Play Suspended At the Marilyn Smith Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kansas – Play was suspended due to darkness at the Marilyn Smith Sunflower Invitational at the Lawrence Country Club Monday.
The Anteaters had completed their 36 holes with Katelyn Kong leading the team with a score of 147 (75-72), recording four birdies on the day.
Senior Kiana Briggs, playing in her first tournament of the season, carded a 150 (78-72), recording four birdies on the second round for a one-over par round. Graduate student Jenny Chang (76-75) and sophomore Katherine Gerbing (79-72) followed a stroke behind at 151 (76-75), while sophomore Alona Avery had a two-round total of 160 (77-83).
The Anteaters recorded a two-round total of 597 (306-291). Overall, UCI had 20 birdies and 105 pars.
The third and final round will begin following the completion of the second round.
