Katelyn Kong earned her first career Big West Golf of the Month award after posting two top 10 finishes in October.
The sophomore placed sixth at the Marilyn Smith Sunflower Invitational (218) then ended the month in a tie for eighth at the Golf Iconic Classic.
At the Golf Iconic Classic, she was the lowest Big West player and led UCI with a score of 213 (67-72-74), posting a career-low 67 on the first round, which is tied for sixth-best all-time at UCI. She was a member of the Anteater squad that shot a school record second round of 279 and ended the tournament with a three-day total of 859 (284-279-296), the third best 54-hole total in the UCI record book.
Kong, who recorded 18 birdies over the two tournaments, is the first Anteater to earn the award since 2017-18 season.
