LAS CRUCES, NM -- UC Irvine capped the fall season with a third place finish at the Golf Iconic Classic held at the New Mexico State Golf Course.
The Anteaters shot a third round of 296 and ended with a three-day total of 859 (284-279-296). The 54-hole score of 859 ranks third best in the UCI record book. The Anteaters were fourth in birdies (41) and pars (182) and led the tournament field in Par 4 scoring (4.03, +4) and tied for eighth on Par 5s (-6, 4.90).
Sophomore
Katelyn Kong had another Top 10 finish, ending in a tie for eighth place with a score of 213 (67-72-74), She was tied for sixth among all participants with 11 birdies.
Graduate student
Jenny Chang was tied for 13
th with a three-round score of 215 (70-70-75), while sophomore
Katherine Gerbing was tied for 15
th at 216 (73-69-74). Chang carded nine birdies, while Gerbing was tied for the tournament lead on Par 4s (3.87, -4).
Sophomore
HaYoung Lee, who had a career-best 68 on the second round, was tied for 33rd with a total of 219 (74-68-77). Sophomore
Alona Avery had the best round of the day for UCI with a one-over 73. She finished in a tie for 70th with a score of 227 (76-78-73).
The Anteaters will take a break and return to action Feb. 9, 2026 at the San Diego State Classic.
