IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team competed in three field events and three distance events to kick off the Steve Scott Invitational Friday at Anteater Stadium.

Liam Miksic earned his second javelin victory of the season. He surpassed the 60-meter mark on three of his six attempts, finishing with a best of 62.32 (204-5). Miksic has won the javelin in three of his four career meets at Anteater Stadium.
Julian Sotelo was the runner-up at 58.10 meters (190-7).

Quincy Stokes took sixth in the hammer with a toss of 56.18m (184-4), while
Max Daniels was 11th in the long jump at 6.84m (22-5.25).

On the track,
Joshua Schuld and
Cameron Smith ran personal records in the 5000-meter. Schuld came in seventh out of 50 with a time of 14:36.60. Smith was 13th at 14:49.78.
Zeid Hussain crossed the finish line in 4:09.57 to place 11th out of 44 in the mile.
Jacob Bustamante was also 18th (4:13.68).
AJ Sager took seventh in the steeplechase (9:41.38).
