FULLERTON, Calif. - UC Irvine men's track & field had three event wins Friday at the Challenge Cup in Fullerton.

For the second week in a row,
Joe Duggan picked up an individual victory in the discus. Duggan took the lead on his second attempt at 54.58m (179-1), before unleashing a personal-record 56.45m (185-2) in the sixth and final round. He moved up five spots to No. 5 in program history.

Kenechukwu Okonkwo claimed top honors in the triple jump with a season-best 15.23m (49-11.75).
Roman Mendoza also won the 400m hurdles in a season-best 53.21.

Duke Pascoe established a lifetime-best 58.16m (190-9) to place third in the hammer. Pascoe improved on his No. 6 mark in school history.
Griffin Cole was the runner-up in the javelin where he matched his season best at 61.17m (200-8), which is seventh on UCI's all-time charts.

Justin Johnson ran a season-best 20.78 to finish second in the 200m. He was .09 seconds off his personal record of 20.69 that ranks second at UC Irvine.
Brandon Burns also clocked a personal-best 21.29 to place among the top-five.
AJ Taylor added a 100m PR of 10.90.

Jake Reed was second in the pole vault, matching his lifetime-best of 4.90m (16-0.75), which he set last weekend at the Triton Invitational.

Jerry Roberts made his season debut in the long jump, finishing with a best of 6.85m (22-5.75).
Caden Matsumoto wasn't far behind with a season-best 6.63m (21-9).

Chimobi Onye took second in the shot put (16.74m/54-11.25) and third in the discus (49.26m/161-7).

UC Irvine will be back in action next week with four local meets as the Anteaters are slated to compete in the Mt. SAC Relays (April 15-18), Bryan Clay Invitational (April 16-18), Pacific Coast Invitational (April 16), and Beach Invitational (April 17-18).
