UC Irvine Starts Busy Week in Long Beach and Azusa

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team competed in the Pacific Coast Invitational Thursday at Long Beach State's Jack Rose Track.
 
Logan Lyght ran a wind-aided personal-record 13.92 to finish third out of 30 in the 110m hurdles. AJ Taylor also notched a wind-aided season-best 14.32 to place 10th overall.
 
Two weeks after establishing the second-fastest 100m in program history at 10.49, Brandon Burns clocked a wind-aided lifetime-best 10.43. He came in 12th in a field of 84.
 
Matthew Irvine also ran the 400m (49.90).
 
In the throws, Joe Duggan led the Anteaters in both the shot put (16.92m/55-6.25) and discus (52.97m/173-9). Duggan was less than a foot shy of his shot put PR.
 
Over in Azusa, Joshua Schuld established a season-best 9:07.86 in the steeplechase on the first day of the Bryan Clay Invitational.
 
The 'Eaters are back in action on Friday at the Beach Invitational, Bryan Clay Invitational, and Mt. SAC Relays.
