LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team picked up two event wins Friday at the Triton Invitational.

Joe Duggan finished first out of 43 competitors in the discus with a personal-record 54.15 meters (177-8). Duggan's mark ranks 10th in school history.
Chimobi Onye also placed ninth with a lifetime-best 50.38m (165-3).

On the track,
Joshua Schuld led the way in his first steeplechase of the year. Schuld, who was a 2025 NCAA West First Round qualifier, clocked a winning time of 9:16.56.

Juan Chantaca claimed runner-up honors, and was the top collegiate finisher in the 5000m at 14:26.68.

Jake Reed cleared a personal-best 4.90m (16-0.75) to come in fourth in the elite section of the pole vault.
Cole Dinkler also tied for seventh (4.60m/15-1).

Darrin Campbell (56.85m/186-6) and
Griffin Cole (56.40m/185-0) were sixth and seventh, respectively, in the javelin.

The Anteaters return to La Jolla tomorrow for the remainder of the Triton Invitational. The field events are scheduled for a 9 a.m. start, while action on the track begins at 11 a.m.
