UCI Hosts Long Beach State and Hawai'i For Regular Season Finale

IRVINE, Calif.— The Anteaters are scheduled to host Long Beach State on Apr. 20 and Hawaii on Apr. 23 to close out the regular season.
Graduate student Alyssia Fossorier and senior Jenna Schlatter will be honored at the match against the Rainbow Wahine for their contributions to the UC Irvine program

Long Beach State comes into the dual match with a 8-9 overall record, 4-3 in the Big West. The Beach have earned conference wins over UC Riverside (4-0), UC San Diego (6-1), Cal State Fullerton (4-2), and CSUN (5-2)
Sheena Masuda holds a 7-4 record in dual matches as an individual, holding a 3-3 record at No. 5 and 4-1 at No. 6. Mathilde Tranberg, who holds an 8-7 overall record, has found success at the No. 4 spot, where she is 5-1. The No. 2 doubles pairing of Rhona Cook and Peppi Ramstedt have a dominating 12-4 record and are a perfect 7-0 in conference.
Hawai'i
Hawai'i holds a 10-6 record so far in the 2023 campaign and are 7-1 in conference action. The Rainbow Wahine have won seven matches in a row and are set to fac Southern California on Apr. 22 before coming over to Irvine.
Both Nikola Homolkova and Satsuki Takamura are 5-0 in Big West play with Homolkova (8-2) assuming the No. 2 singles position and Takamura at No. 3 (9-2). Hawaii has seen 14 different duos in doubles action for a combined record of 19-20 in dual contests.

- UC Irvine came away with one win over the weekend, defeating Westmont 4-0
- Alyssia Fossorier walked away from the week with one win at No. 2 doubles at Westmont (6-1) with partner Jenna Schlatter and a No. 2 singles victory at Cal Poly in three sets (4-6, 6-4, 10-7)
- Fossorier played at the No. 1 singles spot at Westmont and the match was unfinished as the match was already clinched and was up 6-4, 5-0 when it ended. In addition, her No. 2 singles match at Cal Poly was also unfinished as the Mustangs had already claimed the doubles point.
- The duo of Asha Gidwani and Amanda Perez are on a nine-match win streak in doubles action, earning two wins at the No. 3 position this past week. The freshmen hold a 12-2 overall record and are 11-2 at the third spot
- Gidwani leads the 'Eaters in singles play with a 11-4 overall record, 8-3 at the third spot and 3-1 at No. 2
- UCI looks to snap their losing streaks against Long Beach State and Hawai'i, and trail 7-26 and 10-10 in their respective series
