
Women's Tennis Places Four on CSC Academic All-District Team

IRVINE, Calif. - UC Irvine had a quartet of student-athletes named to the Academic All-District Women's Tennis Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Senior Haily Huynh earned her third career CSC Academic All-District honor. Junior Bella Pitchford, and sophomores Maily Huynh and Yen Nhi Huynh are first-time recipients.
Y. Huynh is a two-time All-Big West selection in singles. This year, she was a second-team honoree after playing all of her matches at the top of the lineup. She finished with nine wins and went 4-2 in conference. Y. Huynh added eight dual-match doubles victories.
Pitchford led the Anteaters with a 17-6 overall singles record, and a 14-5 mark in dual matches while playing primarily at No. 5. She also had 16 overall doubles wins with 11 coming during the spring season.
M. Huynh ranked second on the team in overall (13) and dual-match (11) singles wins, while H. Huynh had eight singles and five doubles victories. H. Huynh is also a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and two-time Big West All-Academic selection.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Student-athletes also must have played in 70% of the team's scored matches.
