· A second Big West Freshman of the Week honor for UCI this season as Brady Treinen earned an assist Wednesday and helped toward two shutouts. Mauricio Gutierrez earned Freshman of the Week last month, the first for either Anteater
· The Anteaters have drawn three crowds of over 1,000 fans this season including the second-largest in program history vs. UC Riverside last week at 1,927
· Luke Pruter stopped all five shots on target last week for the second time in his career he's earned consecutive shutouts. He has nine in his career and five this season, a single-season high for Pruter whose approaching the top-10 in saves.
· Notable Anteater stat leaders begin with Ricardo Ibarra who tops the roster with 71 career matches played, 56 starts, and 4,778 minutes. In addition, his nine career assists lead all active Anteaters
· Jake Means is the only 'Eater with two goals this year and leads active 'Eaters with seven in his career. He's also tops with 85 shots, 37 on target, and netted his first career game-winner in the match at Omaha
· Francesco Montanile is UCI's active points leader with 18 (5 G, 8 A). Oscar Cervantes scored his third career game-winner Wednesday to lead all Anteaters
Wednesday at the Titans - 7:00 PM
· Cal State Fullerton cannot be stopped right now winners of eight straight, unbeaten in their last 11, and now ranked at No. 13 in the United Soccer Coaches poll and No. 16 according to Top Drawer Soccer. That includes a 4-1 win over UCLA, draw at ranked Washington, and a 4-0 Big West start outscoring opponents 12-6. UCI does hold the all-time edge over the Titans at 28-24-9 including two straight wins against their former head coach, George Kuntz, and 6-5-2 all-time vs. him.
· The Titans have scored 31 times, nine more than anyone else in the Big West and also have the most shots and corners. Roberto Ordonez paces it with nine goals and nine assists with help from Sulaiman Bah's seven goals and eight others with multiple assists. Tetsuya Kadono's goalkeeping has been solid as well with 44 saves and 13 goals allowed in 13 matches
Saturday vs. the Matadors - 6:00 PM
· CSUN has been going in the opposite direction after starting the year 2-0-3 drawing at Ohio State, Dayton, and UCLA, and dropped ranked USD. Now at 2-6-5, they finally drew Sac State to stop a five-match losing streak. Head Coach Yossi Raz is just 2-5 against his alma mater, but has won the last two. CSUN travels to UC Davis on Wednesday before heading back down to UCI.
· The Matadors' numbers are right in line with UCI in shots and corners. They have allowed 80 shots on target which is second-most in the conference, and been issued the most cautions at 36. Jamar Ricketts brings four goals, five assists, and 26 shots while Jorge Solorzano had scored five times. Cooper Wenzel in net has 54 saves while allowing just under two goals a match.
