IRVINE, Calif. -Â The UC Irvine men's track & field team returns to Anteater Stadium this weekend to host the Steve Scott Invitational, April 29-30. The meet gets underway Friday with a handful of field events starting at 1 p.m., while the distance events will run in the evening, beginning at 7 p.m. A full day of action is then slated for a noon start on Saturday.

• Junior
Josh Farmer earned his second career Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week award on April 19.
• Farmer was recognized after compiling a conference-leading 7,588 points in the decathlon at the Bryan Clay Invite.
• He set lifetime bests in three events including the 100m where he ran a 10.62 which is tied for eighth in school history.

Noah Holm has registered two collegiate personal bests this year, both of which rank among the top-four at UCI.
• Holm had PRs of 183-06 (4th) in the discus on March 5 and 58-08.75 (3rd) in the shot put on April 22.

SHOT PUT LEADERS
Noah Holm has won six of his eight shot put competitions this season. Holm currently holds the top mark in the Big West, and is 29th in the West Region, with a personal-best 58-08.75.
Kyle Tsu also owns the second-best mark in the conference at 56-03.25. The duo ranks among the top-three in school history. Tsu is a two-time NCAA regional qualifier and the defending Big West champion in the shot put as he won the event at the 2021 conference meet with a collegiate personal-record 59-05.5. He was UC Irvine's first Big West champion in the men's shot put since 2015.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Josh Farmer was named the Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance in the decathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Farmer totaled 7,588 points, which ranks first in the Big West, 13th in the West Region and 18th in all of NCAA Division I this season. He set personal records in the 100m (10.62), 400m (47.80) and 1500m (4:37.11), while notching season bests in the long jump (23-10.75), shot put (45-01) and 110m hurdles (14.92). Farmer's time of 10.62 in the 100m is tied for eighth in program history. Last year, the San Diego native earned second-team All-America honors with a 16th-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Farmer was the fourth Anteater to compete in the decathlon at the NCAA meet, and first since his father, Matt, took 13th in 1991. He qualified for the 2021 national championships with a personal-record 7,648 points in an individual victory at the APU Franson Classic. That mark ranks second on UCI's all-time charts.

NEW FACES
Freshman
Liam Miksic (Javelin) is in the midst of an impressive debut season with seven top-10 finishes, including individual victories at The Battle in the OC and the
Vince O'Boyle T&F Classic where he established a personal-record 206-00. Miksic's mark ranks second in school history in the new javelin, and puts him at No. 5 in the Big West and No. 38 in the West Region this season. Freshman
Carlo Reyes and sophomore transfer
Ty Sheridan have also had strong starts to their Anteater careers on the track. Reyes set season-bests of 10.82 in the 100m and 21.95 in the 200m, while Sheridan ran lifetime-bests of 21.76 in the 200m and 48.30 in the 400m at the Challenge Cup. In addition, Sheridan has been part of UCI's three 4x400 relay wins.

MAKING THE LEAP
After the cancellation of the 2020 season, and a modified 2021 schedule, senior
Seth Enochs is hoping to make a return to the postseason. Enochs qualified for the 2019 NCAA West Preliminary Championships in the long jump where he finished 15th as a sophomore. He is a three-time Big West scorer in the event with a high finish of second. Enochs owns a wind-aided lifetime-best 25-04, while his wind-legal PR of 25-00.75 ranks fourth in school history. This year, he picked up an individual victory at the UCSB Invitational (23-07) and had a season-best 23-11.75 in a runner-up performance at the Challenge Cup.

HURDLE CREW
Drew Pickett, who is in his first full season with the Anteaters after the 2020 cancellation and sitting out the 2021 campaign, has established lifetime-bests in both the 110H (14.19) and 400H (54.53). His 110H time ranks eighth in school history.
Jarel Sayles, an All-Big West performer in the 110H, and
Maxwell Jefferson, the 2021 California high school state champion in the 110H, have both been sidelined for most of the season with injuries. Sayles and Jefferson own season-bests of 14.41 and 15.02, respectively.
