Men's Golf Finishes 16th at John A. Burns Intercollegiate

LIHUE, Kaua'i -
The UC Irvine men's golf team remained in 16th place following the final round of the John A. Burns Intercollegiate Saturday at The Ocean Course at Hokuala.
 
The Anteaters combined for a 54-hole score of 894 (289-307-298). No. 38 New Mexico took the team title at 25-under 839. The Lobos came in nine strokes ahead of 27th-ranked Arizona (848), while No. 43 Utah was third (853).
 
Cal's Aaron Du was the individual medalist, firing a 13-under 203 (66-67-70).
 
Nathan Irwin was UCI's top performer, tying for 58th with a three-round total of 223 (69-79-75). Henry Fitzhugh had his best round of the tournament, carding a 74 to move up 15 spots in the standings. Fitzhugh tied for 69th with a 225 (75-76-74).
 
Darien Zhao registered a 226 (73-77-76) to tie for 76th, while Johnny Bai (78-75-74) and Kolbe Irei (72-80-75) tied for 80th.
 
The 'Eaters will be back in action, March 2-4, at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.
