Lin, Harashima Pace UC Irvine on Final Day of Western Intercollegiate

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Tommy Lin and Rei Harashima both came in under par to lead the UC Irvine men's golf team in the final round of the 79th Western Intercollegiate Presented by Titleist Wednesday at Pasatiempo Golf Club.
The Anteaters finished 15th with a 6-count-5 total of 1132 (394-369-369). No. 30 USC held off Cal by one stroke to take home the team title at 13-under. Individually, the Trojans' Jack Buchanan and Stanford's Dean Greyserman tied for first at 10-under.
For the 'Eaters, Rei Harashima had a steady round with three birdies against two bogeys. Two of those birdies came on the back nine as he had a strong finish for his best 18-hole score of the tournament. Harashima tied for 37th at 2-over 212 (73-70-69).
Tommy Lin had three birdies and two eagles to close out the three-day tournament. His eagles came on the par-4, 346-yard seventh and the par-5, 532-yard 13th. Lin notched a season-best 1-under 69 to climb 19 spots in the standings. He finished in a tie for 65th with a 54-hole score of 221 (76-76-69).
Jack Yu was 88th (229), while Kody Li (235), Jason Tang (237), and Owen Davis-Piger (239) rounded out UCI's lineup.
Up next for UC Irvine is the 2026 Big West Championship at La Quinta Country Club, May 3-5.
